Welcome to CareerVIU for Faculty & Staff

The mutual goal of both faculty and the Campus Career Centre is student success. Think of the path our students take to their professional career as a camping trip. Our faculty does an outstanding job of ’filling the student’s backpack’ with the knowledge and skills they need to thrive once they reach their destination. At the Campus Career Centre, we provide the maps and compasses, and serve as guides for students conducting their career exploration.

The Campus Career Centre is your partner in preparing students for their careers. We offer departments and faculty members custom workshops and career-related and employment materials to assist you to meet the career needs of your students.

How can we help you? Following are some of the services we offer:

We help your students find the right fit - We help students determine the right career for their interests, career goals, skills, values and personality. During their academic careers, students return to the Campus Career Centre to develop essential job search skills. We are a student’s best resource for job outlook, salary, and labour market information.
We know employers who want to know our students - At the Campus Career Centre, we work directly with employers on a daily basis.

We’ll bring the information to your class - We specialize in conducting workshops and presentations to the classes you teach. These topics include resume development, job search skills, employability skills, interviewing techniques and portfolio development. In addition, we can arrange presentations by professionals (many of them alumni), who can relate their experiences and how their major has helped them in their carers. Don’t forget that we can help out in a pinch: If you need to or are considering cancelling a class, just contact us and we can schedule a presentation instead.

We assist in the development and facilitation of quality experiential education opportunities - Experiential education ( internship & co-operative education) is such an important part of your student’s overall educational experience; Just ask any employer. Through our vast network of connections, we can help you to develop an experiential education component to your program. We currently coordinate successful experiential education programming in a variety of academic areas.

These are just some of the services and support we offer. Please call the Campus Career Centre to determine how, together, we can achieve student success. We look forward to working with you.
